About this site

This site serves a lot of purposes, and will probably be different things to different people. The driving force behind the creation of this site was my desire to “do something” with my domain, wootopia.net, and the hosting I’ve been buying for the last two years for it. I’d had a very cheesy placeholder page in place, but I was hungry to do something more. As the winter holiday season of 2007 bore down on me, I decided to go whole hog with site creation over my Winter Break. This site is the result. I’ll talk about various things at various times, and hopefully provide tools and reasons that promote some audience participation. My hope is that it will become a place where my friends and acquaintances often visit to keep in touch with me, and hopefully, connect with others. Incidentally, I hate the term “blog” and attempt to avoid using it - it sounds entirely too much like the noise I make when I barf.

About me

I’m Woot. Or rather, that’s one of my more commonly used nicknames. I’ve been using it since sometime in 2000, adopting it after having some of my friends remark that I used the term entirely too much. I’m in my late 20s, working in Tech Support for a selective University in central PA. I like the pace of life here, in the rural, academic environment, and enjoy the slack time it gives me to wonder about things. I fix things, write code, lead student employees, tinker with operating systems, cook, play games, keep fish, go hiking, and spend time with my friends. My life is pretty dull, really. I’d like to keep it that way.
